MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College Bobcats completed the three-game sweep of the 16th-ranked University of North Georgia baseball team with an 11-8 win on Sunday afternoon at GC's John Kurtz Field.

North Georgia struck first with five runs in the first inning.
Erick Delgado led off the inning with a double and
Sam Tidaback brought him home with his own double.
Conner Corbitt continued his hot weekend with a RBI double through the left side three batters later that scored Tidaback and
Trevor Sams.
Kal Dempsey finished the scoring in the inning with a RBI single.

Georgia College would answer with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the first, highlighted by a Tanner Giesel home run that scored two of the three.

Steven Tomlinson got two of the runs back in the second on a RBI double to make the score 7-3.

The Bobcats answered with three more in the bottom frame as Dylan Cook tripled to right center that scored two. Brandon Purcell got the third back with a double in the next at bat to cut the lead to one, 7-6.

Georgia College would tie it up in the fourth and take the lead in the seventh with three runs after the seventh-inning stretch. Wesley Wommack doubled with two outs in the seventh to score two Bobcats and stretch the lead to 10-7 after seven.

North Georgia cut the lead to 10-8 in the eighth when
Devin Gearhart brought home Sams and reached on an error.

The Bobcats scored the final run on a Matt Miller single in the bottom of the eighth.

NOTES- The Nighthawks were swept for the first time since 2014. North Georgia was last swept by Armstrong in the first weekend of April 2014.

- UNG is now 11-7 and 4-5 in PBC play, while Georgia College improves to 10-7 and 6-3 in conference.

- Cameron Busby (4-2) earned the win for Georgia College, going for five innings of one-hit relief. Chris Gammon earned his third save of the season, giving up just one run in two innings.
Logan Burt (1-1) was tabbed with the loss after giving up three runs in two innings of relief.

- Georgia College now leads the Nighthawks in the overall series 18-13 and have won five of the last six against North Georgia.

NEXT UPNorth Georgia returns to the friendly confines of Bob Stein Stadium to take on UNC Pembroke in Peach Belt action. The three-game series will start with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch on Fri., March 11.
