ANDERSON, S.C. | Behind a solid outing from junior
Josh Bryan, the 16th-ranked University of North Georgia baseball team got back on track with an 11-1 win at Anderson Wednesday night.

After the host Trojans opened the scoring with one run across in the bottom of the first, the Nighthawks plated 11 unanswered runs en route to the victory.

Bryan took the mound in relief in the first inning to lead North Georgia with seven-innings of shutout baseball. The right-hander fanned a season-high six batters and no walks on the way to his first win of the young season.

After North Georgia answered the Trojans' run in the top of the second inning,
Trevor Sams broke open the contest in the third with his first of two home runs on the night to give UNG a 4-1 lead. The nation's leader with 12 doubles on the year took another one out of the park in the top of the ninth.

Following Sams homerun in the third, the Nighthawks would plate across two in the fourth, one in the seventh and two in both the eighth and ninth innings.

Joshua Profit – had multiple-hit nights, with each coming up with a pair of hits for UNG.

- The UNG bullpen tossed 9.0 innings of shutout ball with
Josh Bryan picking up his first win of the season, striking out six in 7.0 innings pitched while allowing eight hits.

NEXT UPThe Nighthawks return to Peach Belt Conference play this weekend when they travel to Milledgeville, Ga., to take on Georgia College. First pitch is slated for Friday at 4 p.m., followed games at 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
