DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The University of North Georgia women's basketball team held Embry Riddle to a dismal 11-of-59 (19%) shooting from the floor as the Nighthawks eased past the visiting Eagles, 60-34, on Saturday afternoon in UNG's Memorial Hall. The 34 points allowed marked a season low for the North Georgia defense.
North Georgia scored the first five points of the game, but ERAU went on a 7-0 run to move ahead 7-5. A
Kelsey Hutchins jumper ended the Eagle run and tied the game. That basket also triggered an 11-0 run that put the Nighthawks back out in front, and they never relinquished the lead.
Nighthawks had three players score in double figures, including Hutchins (16),
Amber Skidgel (15) and
Jordan Livesay (14).
NOTES
- Sabrina Whiting was the leading scorer for the Eagles (4-2) with a game-high 16 points.
- The 34 points allowed marked the first time the Nighthawks have held the opponent below 40 since an 81-34 win over Reinhardt on Dec. 14, 2015 and was just three points shy of the NCAA-era record.

Julie McKie helped fuel the 11-0 run in the first quarter with three assists and three steals in a span of just over three minutes. The junior guard finished with five points, four assists and four steals in 20 minutes of action of the bench.
- Livesay was the game's leading rebounder with eight.
- The double figure scoring effort marked the 33
rd consecutive for Hutchins.
- UNG connected on half (5-of-10) of it shots from behind the 3-point line, while the Eagles were able to connect on just 3-of-24 (13%) from long range.
- The win was the 450
th career win for UNG head coach
Buffie Burson. Heading into this season, she ranked 17th among active NCAA Division II coaches in all-time victories.
