PEMBROKE, N.C. | UNC Pembroke's Jasmine Huntley scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Braves to their third straight victory with a 77-56 Peach Belt Conference win over the University of North Georgia women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon in UNCP's English E. Jones Center.
Behind a pair of 3-point baskets from
Molly Rainwater, North Georgia opened the game with a quick 10-0 spurt over the first 2:38, but UNCP responded to outscore the Nighthawks 23-6 for the remainder of the quarter.
Cierra Jackson and
Kelsey Hutchins scored 14 and 10 points respectively to lead the Nighthawks. Rainwater added another 3-point basket in the fourth quarter to finish with nine points, all from long distance. Â
Jackson added a team-high seven rebounds marking the 15
th time the senior guard has led the team in rebounding.

Ashley Parker finished with a career-high seven points in 23 minutes of action off the bench for North Georgia.
- The win extends the Braves' winning streak to a season-best three games and ups their record to 8-7 overall and 3-5 in PBC play. North Georgia falls to 12-5, 4-4 PBC.
- North Georgia was outrebounded by 17, 53-36, marking the largest rebounding deficit of the season. The Nighthawks gave up 21 offensive rebounds, which resulted in 24 second chance points for the Braves.
