The Nighthawks move to 15-3 on the season and have now won eighth straight.
The offense wasn't the only story of the game as the pitching staff combined for 13 innings of shutout ball. Reigning Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Pitcher of the Week
Courtney Poole (9-1) picked up the complete game win in the first game against Lincoln Memorial, allowing just three hits while striking out 14 of the 23 batters she faced.
Meagan Stover (5-0) picked up the win in relief in the Mercyhurst game after coming in for
Ally LeGette who pitched two scoreless innings.
Game OneMcMillan started her career day off with a solo shot to left to but the Nighthawks up 1-0. After three innings without any scoring, it would be McMillan again coming through with a home run, this time a three-run blast to left to give UNG a 4-0 lead.
North Georgia added two more runs in the sixth inning on a
Katie Block RBI single followed by a McMillan RBI single through the right side to score Block and give UNG the 6-0 lead that proved final.
Game TwoIt was once again McMillan starting things off with a two-run homer to left center to give UNG a 2-0 lead in the first. The Powder Springs, Ga., native platted two more in the second inning with a two-run single up the middle..
A
Meagan May double to left center scored
Alexis Collis in the third and
Hannah McSwain picked up a two-run single to center in the sixth to put the Nighthawks up 7-0 in the sixth.
It was only fitting that McMillan drove in the run-rule clinching eighth and ninth runs in the sixth inning to give North Georgia the 9-0 lead.
