Nighthawks' Comeback Falls Short in 87-76 Loss To Limestone

DAHLONEGA | The University of North Georgia men's basketball team cut the lead to six twice in the second half but could not get any closer as Limestone defeated the Nighthawks 87-76 in Memorial Hall Monday night.
 
North Georgia trailed 79-73 with 1:11 left before Limestone went on an 8-3 run to close out the contest.
 
After trailing through the first five minutes, Limestone used a 12-0 run to take over the lead and never looked back.
 
STATS
- Limestone's Shaq Dance had a game-high 32 points to go with 13 rebounds. He was 10-of-15 from the field and 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.
 
- Tanner Plemmons led the Nighthawks with 12 points, all of which were from behind the three-point line.
 
- Sean Brennan finished with 10 points and five assists, while Juan Rivas had nine points and six rebounds off the bench.
 
- North Georgia had great bench production Monday night, scoring 32 points off the bench.

- UNG falls to 2-7 on the season while the Saints up their record to 3-8. 
 
STAT OF THE NIGHT
32 – Shaq Dance scored 32 points, including 17 in the first half for the Saints. North Georgia also had 32 points off the bench.

The Nighthawks open up Peach Belt Conference play in Memorial Hall Thursday night as Flagler travels north from St. Augustine to Dahlonega. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
