AUGUSTA, Ga. | The University of North Georgia men's basketball team overcame a 12-point deficit in the second half to take down Georgia Regents Augusta (10-4, 2-3 Peach Belt), 87-83, Wednesday evening at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The win advances the Nighthawks to 11-1 on the season and 5-0 in PBC play.
 
The 11-1 start ties for the best in school history, a feat only seen in the 1971-72 season.
 
"We challenged our guys a lot at halftime," head coach 
Chris Faulkner said. "I didn't think we were playing the way we have all year and (our guys) responded. Hats off to our kids."
 
Shaquan Cantrell led UNG in scoring on the night with 22 points, while 
Corey Green had a team-high nine rebounds.
 
UNG trailed by as many as 12 points (62-50), in the second half and would lead by as much as eight in the final minute.  The Nighthawks held GRU without a field goal over the final 5:13 of the game.
 
The Nighthawks continue the four-game long road swing on Saturday, traveling to Morrow to take on Clayton State. Tipoff for the men's game is set for 3:30 p.m.
