How Mitchell got to UNG
Maxwell Mitchell came to Dahlonega in 2024 after spending the first year of his college career at nearby Georgia State. Despite Mitchell not playing for the Panthers last season, he brings a rather impressive resume with him to UNG. In 2023, during his high school career at Mill Creek in Hoschton, Ga., Mitchell was voted as the 8-AAAAAAA Forward of the Year. He was also named to the All-Region team after leading the Hawks to their first region title since 2015. On the club circuit, Mitchell competed for Atlanta Fire United, taking home more honors in his career. In 2022, he was named to the Elite Club National League U17 All-Conference First Team.
