High School: Core, a three-sport athlete, was named to the GACA All-State first team in basketball as both a junior and a senior ... was the Chattanooga Times Free Press Player-of-the-Year as well as the NW Georgia Tip-Off Club Player-of-the-Year during the 2010-11 season ... his 2008-09 team won the Region 7-AA crown and advanced to the state tournament's "Elite Eight" ... the team also made appearances in the state tournament in both 2010 and 2011 ... in baseball, he was named tot he Georgia Dugout Club All-State team as a senior in 2011 ... he was also a member of the National Honors Society and graduated third in his class.
