The award-winning in-house video unit of University of North Georgia Athletics, the Nighthawk Sports Network, will produce a combination of over 100 live events programming during the upcoming academic year for streaming, radio and local television. All broadcast coverage links are also available on the sport's online schedule and on UNGAthletics.com.
The Nighthawk Sports Network has had five different sports (women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and softball) chosen to be featured as part of the NCAA Division II Showcase with games carried live on ESPN3.
PRODUCTION & STREAMING
The Nighthawk Sports Network is one of NCAA Division II's first commercially-driven digital networks and provides all streaming of cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and tennis, all at no cost to Nighthawk fans. North Georgia's video platform allows fans to watch events live and on demand in crystal clear high definition on computers, smartphones, tablets, and smart televisions or any HDTV with Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku or any major game console. NSN live streams also feature an active DVR so fans can pause, rewind and even watch in slow motion. The network's basketball productions are also simulcast on radio (Glory Sports) in addition to internet streaming.
RADIO
Nighthawk Athletics also partners with its flagship station, Glory 97.5 FM & 1330 AM WGTJ in Gainesville, to simulcast home basketball games on the local radio airwaves. WGTJ is licensed out of Gainesville, and is owned and operated by Vision Communications. Mike Wofford, a 1979 graduate of North Georgia and general manager at Glory Radio, is a sports broadcasting veteran and was part of the first broadcast team to carry North Georgia basketball on cable television in 1996. Nighthawk fans can listen locally on the airwaves at 97.5 FM or 1330 AM or on mobile devices (tablets and smartphones) through the TuneIn Radio app.
