DAHLONEGA -- No. 13 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer senior goalkeeper
Isabelle Lee has been named as the Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week after a pair of breakout performances on the pitch last week.
Lee spent the first four years of her collegiate career at High Point University in North Carolina. After redshirting her freshman season in 2021, she saw the field in three games over the next three seasons.Â
Joining the Nighthawks this year, Lee has been a key contributor to UNG's early success.Â
Lee had a breakout week for the Nighthawks last week. After posting back-to-back scoreless halves against Wingate and UNC Pembroke in the first week of the season, Lee completed her first career shutout in a 3-0 road win at Young Harris on Wednesday.Â
She extended her scoreless streak to 171 minutes on Sunday by recording a career-high six saves against No. 16 Lee before a penalty kick and set piece in the last 10 minutes ended the game in a 2-2 draw. Lee's six saves were highlighted by a number of diving efforts in which she stifled a Lady Flames offense that had scored seven goals in its first two games.
Now Lee and the Nighthawks will prepare for their final early-season, non-conference match. On Wednesday, Sept. 17 UNG will welcome Lincoln Memorial to Dahlonega at 3 p.m. Fans in attendance will celebrate Fall Spirit Night as the Nighthawks will host a men's and women's home doubleheader.
The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-A of Dahlonega, with each week's winner being treated to a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Located at 488 Morrison Moore Parkway East, Chick-fil-A loves to give back to the local area and is proud to be a community partner with UNG Athletics.
Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
