DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) men's basketball team will travel over the mountain this weekend to tip off the 2025-26 season at the Southeast Region Conference Crossover hosted by Young Harris.
 
The Nighthawks, under the direction of seventh-year head coach Dan Evans, will face Lincoln Memorial on Friday (Nov. 14) at 5:00 before taking on the host Mountain Lions on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

The crossover features representation from the three conferences that make up the Southeast Region - Conference Carolinas, South Atlantic Conference and Peach Belt Conference.

North Georgia voted as the Peach Belt Conference's preseason favorite in the league's annual coaches poll with Colin Turner and AJ White each garnered PBC Preseason All-Conference honors.

The Nighthawks ended the 2024-25 season with an 18-14 record, following an impressive showing in the PBC Tournament knocking off third-seeded Augusta in the first round before falling in overtime to eventual champions and second-seeded USC Aiken. North Georgia returns three starters and nine letter-winners from a year ago.

White is a three-time All-Conference selection and led UNG in scoring (17.1 ppg) while Turner was third in scoring (11.2 ppg).
 
Lincoln Memorial is ranked No. 14 in the NABC Division II preseason poll and were voted to finish in a tie for second in the South Atlantic behind Lenoir-Rhyne. Young Harris was picked to finish second in the Conference Carolinas and return a pair of starters from a 21-9 team that reached the conference tournament quarterfinals.
