DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia rifle program has concluded a historic season with its latest collection of 2023-24 academic honors from both the Southern Conference and the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA).
Between the SoCon academic awards and the CRCA Scholastic All-America Team, every single shooter on the UNG roster garnered academic acclaim this season. Senior
Jaden-Ann Fraser and sophomore
Maya Cameron were the only members of the team to be named SoCon Academic All-Conference, to the SoCon Honor Roll, a SoCon Commissioner's Medal winner and a CRCA Scholastic All-American.
For the second consecutive season and third time in program history, head coach
Tori Kostecki's team boasted a total of eight CRCA Scholastic All-Americans. The Nighthawks eight selections this year add to a program total of 59 Scholastic All-Americans in just eight years since joining NCAA Division I and the SoCon.
On the conference front, UNG totaled 14 honors in the end-of-year academic accolades in the SoCon. 14 honors is the second most total of single-season academic honors in program history, following the record-setting team from last season. In the last two years alone, the Nighthawks have earned a whopping 34 SoCon postseason academic honors. This year they added four to the 2023-24 Academic All-Conference list, had two Commissioner's Medal winners and saw eight players be named to the 2023-24 SoCon Honor Roll.
