CARROLLTON, Ga. – The University of North Georgia women's track and field team had a pair of first place finishes headline the day of competition in the West Georgia Legends Invitational Saturday afternoon.
In the women's 800-meter race, junior Ella Stoudenmire won the event with a 2:17.57 time, marking the fourth time she's finished on the podium this spring.
Freshman Adi Myers also had a solid showing in the 800m with a 2:27.67 time, finishing in eighth place.
In the women's 3000-meter steeple, senior Claire Mills was victorious with a blistering pace of 11:30.59 for her third first place finish of the season. Junior teammate Anna Chasteen followed just behind Mills in second place with an 11:35.82 time, while freshman Nealeigh Broadwell also finished in the top-5 at a 12:44.46 pace.
In the women's 4x400-meter relay race, the Nighthawk combination of Mills, Stoudenmire, Broadwell and senior Kaylee Downing finished in fourth place as a group with a 4:17.15 time.
UNG now gets ready for the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson on Saturday, Apr. 13.
