DAHLONEGA – After a thrilling ninth inning comeback over No. 15 Georgia Southwestern last Thursday, the University of North Georgia baseball team took the series with a 5-1 win on Friday. Now, the Nighthawks headline the campus events this week in Dahlonega with five home games scheduled from Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.
Two of the five scheduled games for UNG will come against a ranked opponent as the No. 17 West Florida Argonauts make the trip to Dahlonega for a midweek series. Game one is set for Tuesday, Apr. 2 at 6 p.m., with the series closing out the next day on Wednesday.
The only other Nighthawk athletic team joining baseball this week is No. 4 women's tennis. After a 13-0 start to the year, head coach
Kent Norsworthy looks to keep his squad flying high with a pair of PBC home matches at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek.
The first match takes place on Monday, Apr. 1 against Augusta while the second such match is set for Sunday, Apr. 7 against Georgia Southwestern. The Nighthawks have two ranked matches during the week before facing GSW, however, as they'll face No. 7 West Alabama in Rome, Ga. on Tuesday Apr. 2, followed by a road PBC contest at No. 8 Flagler on Saturday, Apr. 6.
