DAHLONEGA – In the first home match of the season, the No. 19 University of North Georgia (UNG) rifle team earned a 4,658-4,475 win over Wofford at COL Raymond C. Hamilton Rifle Range Saturday morning. With 2,299 smallbore points and a 2,359 score in air rifle, UNG totaled over 4,650 aggregate points for the second time in four matches this season. The Nighthawks hit on 270 centers in total on the day.
Freshman
Alison Sutherlin led all shooters with 76 centers as she finished in second place on the aggregate leaderboard with 1,167 points.
The overall match leader was junior
Maya Cameron with a total score of 1,170. Cameron posted a 581 in smallbore and a 589 in air rifle to become the matches' ultimate leader. She hit 74 centers on the day.
Freshman
Brianna Walter rounded out the top three of the match as she posted a personal record 592 mark in air rifle. Adding a 573 in smallbore led to a 1,165 overall score for the newcomer.

Wyatt Hicks also made headlines with a new personal best 575 in smallbore.
Holding the top five spots in both disciplines, UNG comfortably outscored the Terriers in the first home match of the season. Of the top 10 individuals in the match, six of them were Nighthawks.
Now UNG will prepare to take on The Citadel on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Charleston, S.C.
