AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference has released the 2022-23 Presidential Honor Roll, presented by Barnes & Noble College, with the University of North Georgia landing 136 student-athletes on the list including 51 Gold Scholars, 27 Silver Scholars, 30 Bronze Scholars and 28 Presidential Scholars.
UNG increased the number of recipients from last year, landing 130 student-athletes in 2021-2022 year and continued their streak of placing more than half of its student-athletes on the list for the 11th consecutive time, dating back to the 2011-12 season.
"We are proud of the success and representation our student-athletes have provided to our university," stated Director of Athletics Mary Rob Plunkett. "We will continue our department's dedication to being champions in the classroom and on the field of play."
The Honor Roll recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of PBC student-athletes who compete in the league's 16 championship sports both at full member institutions and associate member institutions. The Presidential Honor Roll honors all PBC student-athletes who had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.
The honor roll has been divided into four groups: Presidential Scholars, Bronze Scholars, Silver Scholars and Gold Scholars. All student-athletes with a GPA from 3.0 to 3.24 are Presidential Scholars while Bronze Scholars are 3.25 to 3.49; Silver 3.50 to 3.74 and Gold Scholars are those with a 3.75 to 4.00.
