STATESBORO, Ga. — The No. 17 University of North Georgia rifle team fell to No. 16 Jacksonville State
4669-4644 in their neutral site matchup against the Gamecocks.
Elysa Walter and
Maya Cameron finished first and second in the event, but a solid performance from the JSU lineup was enough to defeat the Nighthawks.
Walter finished first in the event, shooting 582 in smallbore and 596 in air rifle, earning the top air rifle score in the event. Cameron finished second overall, with a 585 smallbore and a 587 air rifle score, finishing first of all shooters in smallbore.
Courtney Allison finished eighth overall and third for North Georgia after an 1143 aggregate score after a 560 in smallbore and a 583 in air rifle.
Madison Kennedy shot an aggregate score of 1139, shooting a 570 in smallbore and 569 in air rifle, good enough for fourth for North Georgia and ninth in the event.
Alysa Yancey,
Corbin Jockers and
Jaden-Ann Fraser rounded out the Nighthawks in the lineup with Yancey shooting 1132 aggregate while Jockers shot 1095 as Fraser shot a 583 in air rifle.
