FARMINGTON, Pa. — In the final event of the fall, the University of North Georgia women's golf team took sixth place at the Nemacolin Intercollegiate hosted by Findlay, finishing with an overall team score of 936, shooting their best team score of the tournament in the final round.
Amari Smith led the Nighthawks in the event, finishing in 13th place after an 11-over-par overall scorecard after solid performances in the first and second rounds. Smith was an anchor for the lineup on the first day, shooting a 73 in the first and 74 in the second.
Ellie Rippee grabbed a top-20 finish, moving up two spots into sole possession of 19th place after turning up the heat in the final round, shooting a one-over-par 73.
Abby Franks finished in a tie for 26th, shooting four-over-par in the third round to move up four spots.
Danielle Humphrey finished in 30th overall and fourth on the team, while
Camryn Wright rounded out the Nighthawks' lineup with a 32nd-place finish, shooting seven-over-par in the final round.
No. 8 UIndy won the team title, finishing at 23-over-par, 16 strokes ahead of second place No. 6 Henderson State. Findlay's Mary Kelly Mulcahy moved up eight spots in the final round to take individual medalist honors, shooting four-under-par in the final round.
