AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference has released the 2023 baseball season preview with the coaches poll and preseason All-Conference team with the University of North Georgia voted to finish in a tie four fourth. Columbus State was chosen as the unanimous preseason favorite by the league's coaches, receiving all 10 available first-place votes for a maximum 100-point total. Young Harris was second in the voting, with Georgia College & State University third and a tie between Georgia Southwestern and the Nighthawks in fourth.
The Nighthawks finished 31-20 last season before falling in the PBC Quarterfinals.
Head coach
Tom Cantrell's squad will open up the season in Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park on Feb. 3 in the first game of a three-game series versus Mars Hill. The opening day game against Mars Hill marks the first of 13 consecutive games at home to open up the season.
