DAHLONEGA – The No. 6 University of North Georgia men's golf is set to tee off its 2022 fall season at the Lander Bearcat Fall Invitational on Monday, September 12.
UNG is on the heels of its best season in program history which culminated in the program's first ever National Championship appearance. The Nighthawks return three Peach Belt All-Conference selections to a team that finished 11th in the NCAA Championships and reached as high as fourth in the national rankings.
The two-day Bearcat Fall Invitational features seven schools from the Peach Belt Conference and nine preseason ranked teams in the field. It is being held at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta where UNG will serve as host of the 2023 Peach Belt Conference Championship in May.
The Nighthawks hold the third highest ranking in the field, sitting behind fourth-ranked Lincoln Memorial and fifth-ranked Georgia Southwestern.
North Georgia will compete in five other tournaments this fall finishing the semester with the 9
th Annual UNG Fall Invitational at the Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega. New to the schedule is the Mizuno Intercollegiate at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville.
Sandwiched between these two home events, the Nighthawks will travel to the Sunshine State twice to compete in the Nova Southeastern Shark Fall Invitational and the Copperhead Championship. The fall schedule also includes a trip to the Currahee Collegiate.
