LOUDON, Tenn. - University of North Georgia men's golfer
Stephen Kinsel claimed the individual medalist honors Tuesday in a playoff as he won the Tennessee River Rumble. The No. 4 Nighthawks finished in third place in the tournament.
Kinsel shot a 54-hole score of 7-under 209, tied for the third best score in program history in a 54-hole event. It's his fourth top 10 of the year and his second top five finish.
Evan Thompson climbed into a tie for 14th with a 1-under 215.
The Nighthawks shot 1-over for the three round event, good for the fifth best 54-hole score in program history. UNG finished three shots back of the host Lincoln Memorial for the team title and one back of runner-up Belmont Abbey. Lee and Carson-Newman rounded out the top five.
North Georgia will return to action next week to host the Bracket Challenge at Chimney Oaks in Homer.
