Levensteins, Heil Highlight Baseball All-Conference Honors

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of North Georgia baseball team had six players named to the Peach Belt Conference's All-Conference teams with Nik Levensteins and Cade Heil being named to the first team. Levensteins was also named the Elite 16 Winner, presented by EAB. Andres Perez, Parker Morrison, Brady Eeles and Crews Taylor earned second team honors.

A sophomore from Arvada, Colorado, Levensteins sports the highest cumulative GPA of any player competing in the PBC Tournament. A PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar who has also been named to the PBC Team of Academic Distinction and received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, he played in all 43 games, he carries a 3.92 GPA and becomes the first UNG baseball player to win the Elite 16 Award. On the field, Levensteins is currently hitting .351 with 19 home runs and 62 RBI. Levensteins was named PBC Player of the Week on February 9 and is currently tied for the league lead in RBI and tied for third in home runs. He is also ranked in the PBC's top 10 in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and runs scored.

A junior from Suwanee, Georgia, Heil is 8-0 on the year with a 5.24 ERA. In 13 starts, he has thrown two complete games, one being a shut out, and struck out 51 batters. This is Heil's second All-Conference honor after earning a spot on the second team in 2018.

A redshirt junior from Cumming, Georgia, Morrison is 3-3 with a 4.02 ERA. His 65 strikeouts leads UNG as he threw three complete games, including a 17 strikeout performance at Claflin in his season debut. This is Morrison's third time on the All-Conference second team.

A senior out of Dallas, Georgia, Eeles is tied for the team lead in batting average at .351 with eight doubles, two triples and a pair of homers to go with 34 RBI. Earlier this season, he was named the National Hitter of the Week after going 8-for-12 at the plate against USC Aiken. This is Eeles's first All-Conference honor in the Peach Belt.

A redshirt junior from Duluth, Georgia, Perez is currently hitting .292 with a team-high 19 homers, tied with Levensteins. He also has six doubles, a triple and 48 RBI, second most for UNG. The single season and career record holder for homers at UNG, Perez earned his second All-Conference honor after being named to the team in 2018.

A junior from Lawrenceville, Georgia, Taylor sees his name on the second team after a Preseason All-Conference nod in 2020. Hitting .302 on the year, he has 14 doubles and 15 homers to go with 46 RBI. This is his first All-Conference honor of his career.

North Georgia will play host to Columbus State this weekend for the PBC Championship in a best-of-three series starting Saturday at 2 p.m.
