VALDOSTA, Ga. - After dropping the doubles point, the No. 15 University of North Georgia women's tennis team dominated singles play to earn a 4-2 win Sunday afternoon over Valdosta State.
The Blazers earned wins at the top and third lines in doubles play, but not before
Cibeles Zuddy and
Johanna Lippert earned a 6-0 win on the second line.
Zuddy coupled that with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles shortly after
Anna Markvartova won at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Annie Adams took the score to 3-1 with a straight set win on the No. 3 line, 7-5, 6-4. VSU got their final point with a straight set win on the top singles line before Rafaella Villanueva won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 to clinch the match.
The Nighthawks return to action on Tuesday, February 16, when they host Brenau at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
