DAHLONEGA - The No. 23 University of North Georgia men's tennis team took care of business Saturday when they defeated Tusculum, 6-1.
North Georgia made quick work of doubles as
Ryan Gaskin and Kevin Candido won on the top line, 6-3, finishing just before
Zach Waldow and
Joaquin Benoit on the No. 2 line, 6-4.
Benoit pushed the Nighthawks to a 2-0 lead with a quick 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles.
Daniel Ostap won on the second line, 7-5, 6-2, to put UNG a point away from victory.
After TU's Frank Bonacia won in straight sets on the No. 4 line, Gaskin clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 win on the top line. Candido followed behind with a straight sets win before Waldow won a come-from-behind three-set match.
The Nighthawks will travel to No. 6 Lander to open Peach Belt play on Friday with first serve set for 2 p.m.
