MORROW, Ga. - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team never trailed Wednesday night as they defeated Clayton State, 82-67, to snap a six game losing skid.
North Georgia hit the first basket of the game, a three pointer from
Kody Shubert that started a 7-0 run. Clayton State worked their way back into it, tying the game twice late in the first half at 22-22 and 24-24, but UNG responded each time, going on to grab a 36-27 halftime lead.
The Nighthawks stretched the lead to as many as 17 points before earning the win.

Malik Hardy led all scorers with 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
Frank Champion added 16 points.
- The win marks the third straight win in the series for UNG, including back-to-back wins in Morrow for the first time since a three game winning streak for North Georgia from 2010-12.
- UNG turned the Lakers over 17 times for 24 points. CSU got just one point off nine Nighthawk turnovers.
