AUGUSTA - The No. 24 University of North Georgia men's tennis team made quick work of Augusta in their Peach Belt Conference opener, winning 7-0 Monday.
The Nighthawks swept through doubles action, dropping just five games on their way to the doubles point.
Ryan Gaskin and Kevin Candido won at No. 1, 6-1, to get the momentum rolling for UNG.
It was much the same in singles action with
Mark Laishley getting things started with a swift 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5, finishing shortly before Candido at No. 6 who won 6-0, 7-5. Gaskin claimed the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the top line.
North Georgia will be back in action Wednesday to take on Georgia College in another PBC matchup. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
