CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Kody Shubert and
Malik Hardy each put up 13 points as the University of North Georgia men's basketball team fell to Chattanooga in their third exhibition game of the season, 81-63, Saturday afternoon.
Zach Brown started the game with an exclamation mark as he slammed home the first two points of the night and Shubert hit a three to give the Nighthawks a 5-4 early in the first half. The Mocs responded with a 19-0 run over the next five minutes to push UTC in front for good.
North Georgia trailed by 24 at the break and by as many as 30 in the second period but continued to fight, bringing the game to within 14 with five minutes to play on a
Caleb Mauldin bucket. That was as close as UNG got, however, as Chattanooga finished off their sixth win of the season.
NOTES
- Hardy and Shubert shot a combined 11-for-20 from the floor. Brown also finished in double figures with 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting.
- North Georgia outscored the Mocs in the paint, 42-40, and off the bench, 27-18.
NEXT UP
