JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The University of North Georgia men's tennis team enjoyed an easy day out against Carson-Newman Saturday, as they took down the Eagles 7-0, moving to 6-1 on the season in the process. No sets were dropped as the Nighthawks claimed their fifth sweep of the year.
Doubles saw a slight change in the lineup but made little difference, as
Jared Bones and
Tim Kiehl teamed up for the first time this season, and won 6-1 at the No. 3 doubles spot.
Singles play followed a similar pattern; UNG won all six without dropping a set. Zach Waldow and Kevin Candido came into the singles lineup and impressed, with Waldow earning a 6-0, 6-0 victory, and Candido following suit with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
The Nighthawks next play on Wednesday at 1 p.m. where they will face No. 13 Georgia College in what will be their second PBC matchup of the season. The match will be held at the UNG Tennis Complex.
