DAHLONEGA - After Georgia College stormed back in the second half to force overtime, the University of North Georgia men's basketball team went on a run in overtime to pull ahead and then held on for an 88-83 win over the Bobcats Saturday afternoon.

The Nighthawks held a nine-point lead at halftime, but Georgia College got hot in the second half, shooting the ball at a 53.3 percent clip to draw even and force extra time.

In the extra period, North Georgia went on an 11-2 run to take a nine-point lead and then had to fend off a late push by the Bobcats to earn their 11th win of the year.

NOTES
- The overtime win was the first extra-time victory for North Georgia since the season opener last year against Emmanuel. UNG has been in three other overtime games, all close losses prior to Saturday's game.

- Shawn Hopkins led five Nighthawks in double figures with 16, while Zach Cottrell added 15. Zez Steeple and Roderick English each had 13, and De'Undra Singleton had 10.

- UNG shot 52.3 percent (34-for-65) from the field.

- Prior to tipoff, the men's basketball program honored its two seniors: Hopkins and Quincy Poitier.
