DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia women's tennis team completed a shutout of Emmanuel Wednesday afternoon, beating the Lions 7-0 at home at the UNG Tennis Complex.
Doubles went quickly in the Nighthawks' favor with
Adrienne Bofinger and
Anna Marie Moller finishing a fast 6-0 match on the No. 3 line before
Annie Adams and
Laura Van Der Hage clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2.
Singles went much in the same way with the Lions not earning more than four games in any of the 12 sets across the six singles matches.
Vaishali Jorge and Bofinger each won quickly with sets of 6-1 and 6-2 to win in straight sets. Claudelle Labonte Frey won her match at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2, before
Rafaella Jean Villanueva clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 4 line.
The Nighthawks will be in action for one more tournament this fall, traveling to Brenau next weekend.
