DAHLONEGA - A total of 11 Nighthawks finished with tallies in the scoring column as the University of North Georgia men's basketball team raced past Southern Wesleyan, 86-57, Saturday night in the UNG Convocation Center. It's the third straight win for the Nighthawks.
UNG trailed by six early after Jalen Lowery nailed a deep three to make the score 8-6, but North Georgia fought back to take the lead at 12-11 on a 
Zach Cottrell floater in the lane.
The Nighthawks would never relinquish the lead from that point on with the game being highlighted by a 
Tyler Dean to Shawn Hopkings alley-oop with 12 minutes to play in the final period.
NOTES
- Hopkins led all scorers with 21 points, followed by 
Zez Steeple's 19 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field, five of which were made three pointers.
- UNG shot 55 percent from the floor while holding SWU to just over 31 percent.
