Tshimanga Sets Career Steals Mark as Men's Basketball Coasts Past Erskine

DAHLONEGA - With a steal just one minute into the second half, Ephraim Tshimanga broke the UNG career steals mark as the University of North Georgia men's basketball team earned its first win of the season over Erskine, 89-64.

Tshimanga had six steals on the night, breaking the record held by former UNG point guard Travis Core with his fifth of the night. The junior now has 113 career steals.

North Georgia jumped out quickly against the Flying Fleet, scoring the first 11 points of the contest to take the lead for good. The Nighthawks led by as many as 31 points en route to the 25 point win.

NOTES
- Lanre Olatunji led four players in double figures for North Georgia, notching his third career double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Shawn Hopkins had 17 points, while Zez Steeple and Tshimanga added 14 and 13, respectively.

- UNG shot the ball 83 times in the game, the most shots taken since firing 81 shots on November 22, 2013, against Shorter. North Georgia was also 22-for-29 from the free throw line.

- The Nighthawks had 26 offensive rebounds, notching 21 second chance points.
