COLUMBUS, Ga. - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team shot a program-best 34-of-48 (70.8%) from the field as the Nighthawks led wire-to-wire in a 95-80 win over Columbus State Wednesday night at CSU's Lumpkin Center.
North Georgia scored on each of its first seven possessions as the Nighthawks ran out to a 15-8 lead in the first 3:30 of the game. UNG stretched its lead to as many as 17 points late to earn its second Peach Belt win of the season.
NOTES
- The Nighthawks shattered the previous school record for field goal percentage in a single game by over six percentage points. UNG shot 64.7 percent (44-of-68) against Emmanuel last season.

Ebo Smith led the way with 20 points, including four made three pointers. The senior from Lula, Georgia, also made a season-high eight free throws in the win.
Shaquan Cantrell added 19 points, while
Tyler Dominy contributed 14 to the cause.
Quincy Poitier scored a career-high 11 points, missing only one shot in the contest.
- UNG's 95 points marks the most points in a win over Columbus State in the all-time series and the second-most all-time. North Georgia scored 107 in a loss back in 2006. With the win, the Nighthawks snap a six-game losing skid against CSU.
