DAHLONEGA – The No. 36 University of North Georgia women's tennis team extended its program-best winning streak to seven matches with an 8-1 Peach Belt Conference win over Clayton State on Saturday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex @ Yahoola Creek Park.
The Nighthawks improve to 16-3 overall and 7-2 in PBC play, while the Lakers sink to 2-11, 0-9 PBC.
The Nighthawks notched three identical 8-1 victories in doubles play to take a 3-0 advantage and claimed the first four singles matches to secure their 16
th victory of the season.
The 16 wins sets a new NCAA-era record for single season victories for UNG, and the seven conference wins also marks a new program record.
North Georgia wraps up the four-match home stand tomorrow (Apr. 2) with an 11:00 a.m. Peach Belt match against Montevallo.
