DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The No. 36 University of North Georgia women's tennis team pushed its winning streak to five matches with a 6-3 Peach Belt Conference win over Lander on Tuesday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
North Georgia grabbed two of the three doubles matches and quickly clinched the win with straight set singles victories at No. 1 (
Kathrin Waidner), No. 3 (
Karina Gurgenyan) and No. 4 (
Holly Bennett).
Waidner and Gurgenyan each extended their singles winning streaks to five matches, while the victory was Bennett's fourth straight.
The Nighthawks improve to 14-3 and 5-2 in PBC play while Lander falls to 7-5 and 3-4.
UNG returns to action on short rest with a home match against Augusta tomorrow (Mar. 29) at noon.
