CHICAGO | University of North Georgia redshirt-senior Brandon Agar has signed a free agent contract with the Chicago White Sox organization. Agar is the second player from the 2016 senior class that will continue his career in the professional ranks as teammate Sam Tidaback was selected in the draft by the Chicago Cubs.
 
"Brandon Agar is one of the finest young men that has come through our program," head coach Tom Cantrell said. "We are extremely proud of him and are excited that he gets to continue his career with the White Sox organization."
 
Agar has been a mainstay in the UNG starting rotation for the past four seasons, collecting an overall record of 23-18. This season, Agar was 7-4 with a 3.75 earned run average, picking up 107 strikeouts in 100.2 innings pitched.
