Joshua Profit, and
Sam Tidaback combined for six hits and five RBI as the University of North Georgia baseball team powered past rival Young Harris, 7-5, Sunday afternoon at Bob Stein Stadium, claiming the series victory. North Georgia improves to 20-16 on the season and now sits at 10-13 in the Peach Belt Conference.

The Mountain Lions struck first with three runs in the second inning, including Brett Westmoreland's two-run homerun down the left field line that gave YHC a 3-0 lead.

UNG got back in the game plating a run in both the fourth and fifth innings off of RBI doubles from Tidaback and Delgado, respectively that closed the Young Harris lead to one, 3-2.

The Nighthawks broke the game wide open in the seventh, putting up a five spot after the stretch. Delgado got the party started with his second RBI double on the day, almost identical to his first in left center.
Devin Gearhart followed with a single to left that drove in
Taylor Jones. Then Profit plated Delgado with a single to left. Tidaback and
Trevor Sams both followed with RBI singles to give North Georgia its first lead of the day, 7-3.

Zach Wall picked up a two-run homer in the eighth but YHC couldn't put together a rally as the Nighthawks held on to win the game and the series.

NOTES- With the win, North Georgia takes the season series over Young Harris, giving the Nighthawks a leg up in the Battle of Blood Mountain standings. UNG is now 8-4 all-time against the Mountain Lions.

Chris Cobb earned his fourth win of the season, giving up four runs off five hits in seven innings, striking out six.

Erick Delgado had a season-high two doubles as he finished 2-for-4 in the game.
Joshua Profit finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
