MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College picked up a pair of home Peach Belt Conference victories on Wednesday afternoon edging the No. 20 University of North Georgia men, 5-4, and downing the Nighthawk women, 9-0, at GC's Centennial Center Tennis Facility.

In the men's match, the 10^th-ranked Bobcats took a 2-1 advantage into singles, but the Nighthawks rallied with a pair of singles victories by Niklas Zielen (No. 2) and Alexander Reinauer (No. 3) to take a 3-2 lead.

Philipp Mueller took the first set from the nation's 14^th-ranked singles player Yannick Hass, but eventually fell in the top singles line. GC secured the victory with additional wins at the bottom of the lineup. 

North Georgia falls to 7-3 overall and 2-3 in Peach Belt play while GC improves to 5-4, 2-2 PBC. 

In the women's match, 21^st-ranked Georgia College blanked the Nighthawks after jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead after doubles.  The Bobcats capped the win with straight set victories in all six singles matches.

The Nighthawks' best chance came at No. 2 doubles where Kathrin Waidner and Emma Etelalahti fell in a tiebreaker.

UNG falls to 7-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play while the Bobcats up their record to 8-4, 4-2 PBC. 

North Georgia's next action is on the team's Spring Break trip to Florida as the women take on Minnesota State – Moorhead on Sunday (Mar. 13) at 10:00 a.m. in Orlando while the UNG men will play at Saint Leo on the same day at 2:00 p.m.
