ORLANDO | The University of North Georgia tennis teams opened up their 2016 Spring Break trip by splitting a pair of non-conference matches on Sunday afternoon in the Sunshine State.  The UNG women blanked Minnesota State-Moorhead, 9-0, while the No. 20 Nighthawk men dropped a 7-2 decision at 7^th-ranked Saint Leo.

The women's match was a neutral site event played at the Lake Cane Tennis Center.

The shutout marked this fifth time this season that the Nighthawks have taken all nine lines from the opposition. The victory improves North Georgia to 8-3 overall.

The men's match was played on the Saint Leo campus just north of Orlando and was the second consecutive contest against a top-10 ranked opponent.

Saint Leo's top three singles players are in the top-20 nationally in the ITA's latest rankings.

The loss drops UNG to 7-4 on the season.

Both teams resume action on their southern swing on Monday (Mar. 14) when both teams square off against Wayne State from Michigan.
