Men’s Basketball Falls to No. 20 Columbus State, 95-67

DAHLONEGA | The University of North Georgia men's basketball suffered a 95-67 set back at the hands of 20th-ranked Columbus State Wednesday evening in Peach Belt Conference action at Memorial Hall in Dahlonega. The Nighthawks fall to 4-12 on the season with a 2-5 mark in the Peach Belt Conference.
 
After both teams made runs in the first 15 minutes of play, the Cougars (11-2, 5-1 PBC) took control of the game in the final three minutes of the first half and lead by double digits the rest of the night.
 
NOTES
- Corey Green scored his second double-double of the season leading the team in both points and rebounds with 15 and 11, respectively.
 
- CSU's Cam Baker scored the Cougar's first 11 points of the game. Baker led the Cougars on the floor with 27 points.
 
- Columbus State shot over 50 percent from the field in each half, including a 45 percent mark from beyond the arch in each half of play.
 
- The 28-point margin is the largest in defeat this season for UNG. The last time North Georgia loss by 28 points or more was against Augusta on Feb. 21, 2009 in Augusta, a 87-58 defeat. UNG also fell by 34 at Georgia in an exhibition game in November of 2009. The last time UNG fell by 28 or more in Memorial Hall came on Jan. 10, 2007 against Lander, 92-63.
