AMERICUS, Ga. | The University of North Georgia men's and women's tennis teams returned from south Georgia with a pair of 9-0 Peach Belt Conference victories over Georgia Southwestern on Saturday afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Center.
The UNG men improve to 14-3, 6-3 PBC, while the Nighthawk women collected their program-best 10 straight victory to push their record to 12-8 and 6-6 in PBC play.
The men's 14 wins match a program record for single season victories, tying the team's 14-9 mark in 2012.Â
The North Georgia women also tie the school's single season wins record with today's victory, equaling the benchmark set just last season (12-9). The six conference wins alsos sets a new program record.Â
The teams will wrap up the regular season with a home conference match against Georgia College on Monday (Apr. 20) at 2:30 at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
The men's match will feature a battle of top-25 teams with the 20
th-ranked Bobcats challenging No. 21 North Georgia. Â
The No. 15 GC women will bring a seven-match winning streak to Dahlonega while the UNG women will look extend its winning streak to 11 matches.
