FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. | The University of North Georgia men's and women's tennis teams stepped out of conference play and breezed to victories at Emmanuel on Wednesday afternoon at the EC Tennis Courts.  The No. 21 Nighthawks won 6-0 in a rain-shortened match while the women picked up their third victory with a 9-0 shutout.

On the women's side, Natalia Escobar headlined the day with a pair of wins at the top singles and doubles lines.  The match was her first at No. 1 singles on the season.

North Georgia improves to 3-8 on the year, while Emmanuel remains winless at 0-10.

On the men's side, the Nighthawks won all three doubles matches and three singles matches to secure their ninth win of the season. 

UNG is now 9-2 on the season while the host Lions drop to 1-9. 

North Georgia returns to action on Saturday with a Peach Belt Conference showdown with Lander at 1:30 p.m. at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
