DAHLONEGA | Five Nighthawks scored in double figures at the University of North Georgia men's basketball team earned its first with on the season, 104-90, on Friday evening at Southern Wesleyan.
Corey Green and
Ebo Smith scored 19 points apiece to lead the Nighthawks.
The win improves UNG to 1-3 on the season while SWU falls to the same mark.
In his first action of the season,
Sean Brennan tallied 18 points in just 19 minutes of action while
Juan Rivas and
Tanner Plemmons added 15 and 10 respectively to the cause.
NOTES- After leading by three, 44-41, at intermission, North Georgia exploded for 60 second half points.
- The Nighthawks connected on 24-of-27 (89%) free throws in the second half.
- Green pulled down 12 rebounds, tying SWU's Jemiah Wimphrie for game-high honors. It was the senior's first double-double of the year.
- SWU's Zach Watson led all scorers with a game-high 32 points, including 8-of-17 shooting from behind the three-point line.

Tyler Dominy pitched in with eight points on a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and added four assists and a pair of blocks.
- A 9-1 run capped by a Dominy jumper with 7:00 remaining pushed North Georgia's lead to 12, 81-69
STAT OF THE NIGHT48 – North Georgia had 48 points scored by non-starters including three reserves (Brennan, Rivas, Plemmons) that came off the bench to score in double figures.
