Men’s Basketball Falls to Emmanuel, 83-75

DAHLONEGA | The University of North Georgia men's basketball team fell to Emmanuel on Saturday night, 83-75, in UNG's Memorial Hall. The game was the final game of the Peach Belt / Conference Carolinas Conference Challenge presented by Steak-n-Shake.
 
The Lions and Nighthawks were tied at 14 apiece when Emmanuel went on a 14-0 run in the middle of the first half to jump out to a 28-14 lead with 5:56 left. The run was accentuated by an Elijah Robinson dunk.
 
North Georgia cut the lead to nine multiple times in the second half but was unable to keep the runs going as Emmanuel answered each time the lead was cut to single digits.
 
T.J. Williams led the Nighthawks with a game-high 20 points to go with eight rebounds. Tyre Gathright had 13 while Ebo Smith and Tyler Dominy scored 11 points each.
 
NOTES
- North Georgia falls to 0-2 with the loss, and Emmanuel improves to 1-1 with the win.
 
- Four Lions scored in double figures with Kurtis Robinson scoring a team-high 15 points. Steven Guinchard scored 13, Zach Lillie scored 12 and Zach Vess netted 12 as well.
 
- The Nighthawks shot just 20 percent (3-15) from beyond the arc while Emmanuel shot 41 percent (9-22) from distance.
 
- Game six of the PBC / Conference Carolinas Challenge saw Georgia College knock off Pfeiffer, 84-63.
 
STAT OF THE NIGHT
9-22 – The Lions made nine-of-22 three-point attempts on the night, including 5-13 in the first half.

The Nighthawks hit the road on Tuesday to take on Bob Jones with a tip time set at 7 p.m. from Greenville, S.C.
