Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Nighthawks Never Trail In 69-57 Road Win At Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. | The University of North Georgia men's basketball team never trailed in a 69-57 non-conference road win at Limestone on Saturday evening in LC's Timken Center.  North Georgia concludes its non-conference schedule with a 6-1 record.

The Nighthawks will return to the court on December 18 in the team's Peach Belt Conference opener at Flagler.

North Georgia scored the game's first four points and would never trail, leading by as many as seven in the first half.  The host Saints were able to score the final five points prior to intermission to trim the UNG lead to 32-31 at the break.

A three-pointer by Limestone's Shaq Dance tied the game at 41 apiece with 12:15 remaining, but North Georgia immediately responded with a quick 7-0 run punctuated by an old-fashioned three-point play by Travis Core to take control of the game.

A layup by Shaquan Cantrell gave the Nighthawks their largest lead of 14 (64-50) with 5:13 left in game.

The Nighthawks held Limestone to just 26 second half points, holding the Saints to just eight-of-33 (24%) from the floor.

Core and Cantrell led North Georgia with a team-best 14 points apiece, while Tyler Dominy came off the bench to reach double figures with 10 points on four-of-six shooting from the field.

Corey Green collected a game-best 10 rebounds for the Nighthawks.

North Georgia connected on 15-of-18 free throws (83%) compared to just 11-of-18 (61%) from the host Saints.

LC's Dance finished the night with 29 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the floor.
