DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of North Georgia wrapped up their Peach Belt Conference season with their appearance at the PBC Championships, finishing in sixth as a team, with
Ella Stoudenmire winning the 800-meter race highlighting the event for the Nighthawks.
Stoudenmire finished in 2:16.74 in the 800-meter race, finishing in first just ahead of
Emily McBride, who finished in fourth with a time of 2:19.53.
Emery Ryan finished in 10th place in the race, recording a time of 2:21.22 ahead of
Claire Mills, who finished in 11th with a time of 2:21.55.
Stoudenmire wrapped up a successful PBC Championship appearance with a third-place finish in the women's meter race, finishing with a time of 4:43.74. McBride added a second-place finish for North Georgia in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 11:20.12 and leading a host of Nighthawks to finish in the top ten as
Val Angel (4th), Mills (5th) and
Anna Chasteen (6th) all added points to the Nighthawks totals.
Angel added a pair of top ten finishes to her day, finishing in sixth in the 10000-meter race and 10th in the 5000-meter race behind
Karmen LeRoy, who finished in seventh and fourth in those races, getting the fourth place finish in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 38:16.63 and seventh in the 5000-meter race with a time of 18:20.16. LeRoy was also named as a member of the league's All-Sportsmanship team.
Sydney Bolyard picked up a pair of ninth-place finishes in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the 800-meter race to round out the Nighthawks finishing in the top ten.
