AUGUSTA, Ga. – Following first round action, the University of North Georgia women's golf team sits in second place at Forest Hills Golf Club, six strokes back from 21st-ranked Lander at the Peach Belt Conference Championship.
Maddie Ananthasane leads the Nighthawks after the first round, posting a three-over-par 75 to place herself in a tie for second place, two strokes behind the leader. Ananthasane finished one-over-par on the back nine, recording three birdies on the day.
Ellie Rippee is in sole possession of seventh place, three strokes behind Ananthasane, finishing the first round with a six-over-par 78 with a three-over-par on the front and back nine.
Danielle Humphrey (+8) sits in a tie for 11th place, three strokes ahead of
Amari Smith (+11), who holds a spot in the top 15, tying for 15th place after the first day, while
Jadin Ware (+13) rounds out the lineup in a tie for 21st.
North Georgia is paired with the Bearcats and second-place Flagler and will tee off in the second round at 9:50 a.m.
