North Georgia Has Strong Showing at Electric City Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. – The University of North Georgia women's track and field team completed a strong showing at the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson, finishing with six top-ten finishes in the event.

A host of Nighthawks finished strong in the event, with Sydney Bolyard, Devin Helms, Claire Mills, Karmen LeRoy, Ella Stoudenmire and Emily McBride all grabbing spots in the top ten of their respective races. The Nighthawks added a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay earning a time of 4:09.07.

Bolyard and Helms finished in seventh and tenth, respectively, in the 3000-meter steeplechase, with Bolyard finishing with a time of 12:26.61 and Helms finishing right behind with a time of 12:33.22.

Mills finished in sixth, and LeRoy finished in ninth for the Nighthawks in the 1500-meter run, with Mills recording a time of 4:50.28 and LeRoy finishing in 4:55.59.

Stoudenmire and McBride found themselves in a familiar place near the top of finishers in the 800-meter run. Stoudenmire finished in 2:13.51 in third place, just ahead of McBride in seventh, as McBride finished with a time of 2:18.28. Next Up
The Nighthawks head to the Peach Belt Conference championships next, running on Apr. 20-21 in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Nighthawks finished second in last year's PBC Championships.
