Game Preview: The University of North Georgia women's basketball team is ready to host the UNG Nighthawk Classic, taking on two undefeated teams this weekend starting with West Florida on Friday. UNG will then turn its attention to No. 3 Carson-Newman in a rematch of last season's NCAA Southeast Regional Championship.
Weekend Schedule: Georgia College will play at 4 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, taking on the Eagles Friday before the Argos on Saturday. The Nighthawks will play in the 6 p.m. slot both days as well against the opposite opponent.

Last Week: North Georgia went 2-0 at the PBC / Conference Carolinas Challenge by sweeping Emmanuel and Lees-McRae. The Nighthawks trailed by one point in the first quarter of each game before taking off and pulling away in the final three frames.
Scouting West Florida: West Florida is 2-0 after sweeping through the Gulf South / SIAC Challenge at Valdosta State last weekend. The Argos picked up wins against Albany State and Fort Valley State. They are led by Halee Nieman's 18 points per game, while Toni Brewer is averaging a double-double through two matchups at 13.5 points and 12.5 boards per outing.
Series Versus West Florida: North Georgia has won the only matchup against West Florida in the two teams' histories, pulling out an 83-79 win back in 2012 at the UNG Nighthawk Classic.
Scouting Carson-Newman: Carson-Newman is currently ranked No. 3 in the polls after being picked to win the SAC this season. They are 2-0 after wins over USC Aiken and Lander in the opening weekend. The Eagles average 91.5 points per game, led by Mika Wester's 21.5 points per game.
Series Versus Carson-Newman: The Eagles lead the all-time series, 6-3, with all six of their wins coming in the last seven matchups. Both games last year were four-point victories for Carson-Newman.
Nighthawk of the Week: Julianne Sutton was named the Einstein's Nighthawk of the Week after her opening weekend performances. She led UNG both nights, including a career high 30 points in the Saturday matchup against the Bobcats.
Home Schedule: This season, North Georgia will play 14 games inside the UNG Convocation Center, including hosting the UNG Nighthawk Classic this weekend. The Nighthawks will also host ESPN3 on January 9 as Columbus State comes to Dahlonega as part of the NCAA Division II Showcase.
